About the Humofor
The Humofor is the place where the work is done, the miracles happen, and communion between men and the forces of God takes place. Humofor literally means "rock" or "strong ground," referring to the center of the Humofor where the peristyle itself is found. The peristyle is typically a tree or pole, symbolizing the channel for communication between heaven and earth, and around which the "rock" is built and the forces are called upon to guide Voodooisants in their everyday lives.
